Hello, my name is Lisa DeCandia. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as an ordained minister, inspirational speaker, grief educator, and endorsed Chaplain in specialized ministries in clinical settings. I have a love for words and poetry that began at an early age and my early journey in higher education led me into the world of classical literature as I pursued my degree in English. I loved writing, even when I was a young child, and always wanted to be able to use words to paint a picture evoking emotional responses similar to the great painters throughout history. Words are powerful! To further balance out my education and pursue my passion, I completed my Masters in Divinity and learned to study and appreciate the Word of God with an even deeper love and appreciation than I have for classical literature. Finally, I have invested my life in the study of people and am only just learning the power of memory making and the gifts and love of God revealed in the people around me as I am pursuing Ph.D. studies in Health Psychology. I use my education and my passion to teach, preach, provide inspirational speaking, writing, editing, and clinical and community education regarding anticipatory grief and grief. I would love to hear your story as you join me in a journey to hear the songs being sung over us in the night watches. Feel free to contact me if you would like some encouragement or if you are in need of a writer, inspirational speaker, preacher, or public educator on the topic of anticipatory grief and/or grief.
